BERNIECE THURSTON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Emma Berniece Peterson Thurston, 92, of Idaho Falls, died February 11, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 25, 1915, in Goshen, Idaho, to William Lester Peterson and Mary Viola Holm Peterson. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Shelley High School. She continued her education at Idaho State University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. She then attended San Jose State University in California where she received a Master's Degree.
On February 2, 1937, she married Harry L. Thurston. They were later divorced. She was a mother and homemaker, as well as a school teacher for many years. She lived in Pocatello for 14 years; Woodside, California, for 25 years; and Duxbury, Massachusetts, for eight years, before moving back to the Idaho Falls area.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Berniece enjoyed traveling, quilting, painting, and especially loved being with her family.

10 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alayne Greenberg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon, with Bishop David Burger of the Idaho Falls LDS Parkwood Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home East Side. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
