TOM SPENCER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Elvin Thomas Spencer, 50, of Boise, passed away April 21, 2010, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Tom was born June 6, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ervin Henry Spencer and Kaye Walden Williams Spencer. He attended Iona and Irwin Elementary Schools, Ammon Jr. High and Bonneville High School. He served in the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of Sergeant, and received a Marksman designation. Tom married Valerie Renee Blair on April 20, 2009, in Challis, Idaho. He worked as a rancher and auto mechanic. He has lived in Challis, Bone, and Boise. Tom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his biggest interest was working on his pickup. Survivors include: Wife: Valerie Spencer, Boise, ID Daughter: Tanna (Luis) Suarez, Boise, ID Son: Ryan (Kathy) Werth, Boise, ID Son: Mike Spencer, Boise, ID Son: Zac Werth, Boise, ID Son: Kasey Shobe, Twin Falls, ID Daughter: Rosalee (Clinton) Brown, Spring Creek, NV Parents: Ervin & Kaye Spencer, Iona, ID Brother: Kent (Penny) Spencer, Roy, UT Sister: Renea Colvin, Boise, ID Sister: Tanna Spencer, Idaho Falls, ID 4 Grandchildren: Thomas, Jaslynn, Caden and Maddy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a son, Dusty Spencer. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, corner of Ririe Highway and 55th East, with Bishop Brad Bailey of the Iona LDS 5th Ward officiating.The family will visit with friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. ---------------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: The family of Gloria "GoGo" Rhoades smokeyid@hotmail.com I just want to say that Tom was a very good man. I can remember babysitting his children, Dusty, Mike and Tanna. I have known Tom for over twenty years and he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I just want to say I am sorry of the loss of Tom. I know he is in a better place now and has been recieved with open arms from his ancestors.
