ELVA HUSKINSON
MESA, ARIZONA: Elva Roberts Huskinson, 89, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Idaho Falls, died May 4, 2002.
She was born March 18, 1913 at Sugar City, to John Lloyd Roberts and Amy Jaques Roberts, the eighth of fourteen children. She grew up in the Sugar City area and attended school in Sugar City and Idmon, where her father farmed.
She married Dale Huskinson on December 7, 1933 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They farmed at Moody Creek and later moved to Hamilton, Montana to farm. In 1954, they moved to Pocatello. There she attended Idaho State University and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy. She worked as a speech therapist in School District #91 in Idaho Falls until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She and her husband served a mission for the church in northern Arizona.
Surviving are:Daughter: Shirlee Bird, Mesa, AZSon: D. Lynn Huskinson, Hamilton, MTSon: Hal R. Huskinson, Missoula, MTDaughter: Deanna Anderson, Iona, IDSister: June Albano, Orem, UTBrother: Luther Roberts, Weiser, IDBrother: Wesley Roberts, Ontario, OR 16 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband.
Graveside Services will be at 12 noon, Friday, May 10, 2002, at the Teton City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at Wood Funeral Home on Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your local hospice organization.
