ELLEN S. JOHNSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ellen Sophia Scott Johnson, 95, of Idaho Falls, died July 16, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born December 23, 1908, at Annis, Idaho, to Ephraim Moroni Scott and Hannah Sophia Orstrom. She grew up and attended schools in Annis, where she lived for 18 years. She then lived in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. She has lived in the Milo area since 1933. She married Glenn Howard Johnson March 30, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He preceded her in death March 4, 1962. She worked as a telephone operator, on the family farm and was a homemaker. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society, both as an officer and teacher, and as a temple worker. She also was a Charter Member and officer of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Sarah A. Howard Camp, for more than 65 years, and was a Pink Lady volunteer at the Idaho Falls Hospital. She enjoyed gatherings with her family, doing family history, gardening and quilting. Surviving are: Son: LaMar (Priscilla) Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Louise (LaVar) Newman, Monteview, ID Son: Ronald (Dixie) Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Bruce (Martha) Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Lola Butler, Lyman, ID 24 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons, and brother, Cleo Scott. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Milo LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 12127 North 75 East (Milo Road), with Bishop Kenneth Stucki officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
