IONA, ID -- Ellamae Bartholomew “Jeri” Krantz, 98, of Iona, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her son’s home where she has resided for the last two years.
She was born May 10, 1912 in Gunnison, Utah, to Alma C. Bartholomew and Elsie Katherine Christensen Bartholomew. She attended Gosphen Grade School and Graduated from Payson High School. She attended Henager Business School. She lived in Gunnison, Utah for four years; Lyman, Wyoming for two years; Goshen, Utah for nine years; Payson, Utah for three years; Salt Lake City for four years; and Whittier California for nine years. She has resided in Idaho Falls for the last 60 years.
She married Harold Dorcheus “Pat” Krantz on December 16, 1933 in Payson, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized on August 16, 1988 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Harold preceded her in death on August 11, 1987. Jeri worked for 25 years as a legal secretary for Holden, Holden, Kidwell, Hahn and Crapo, Attorneys-at-Law.
Jeri was a skilled typist and stenographer. While attending Henager’s, she typed 104 words per minute in a five minute test. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jeri served as a primary teacher, in Relief Society, and on the homemaking committee. She served an LDS mission in Salt Lake City from 1992 to 1993.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing with her husband, traveling, and taking long walks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, A. Owen Bartholomew, Edgar Bartholomew, Byard Bartholomew, and Clifton Bartholomew; and one sister, Edith Bauer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Iona LDS Church, 5169 East Denning Ave. in Iona with Bishop Albert Davidson of the Iona 10th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
