Marcia Eliza Waters Haws Davis, 93, of Ririe, Idaho, passed away November 8, 2011, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She was born September 1, 1918, in Ozone, Idaho, to Seth Gates Waters and Francis Ethel Crow Waters. She grew up and attended schools in Ammon and Iona. On June 27, 1938, she married Ray Haws in Dillon, Montana. He passed away August 21, 1962, in Idaho Falls. She married Wesley Pitt Davis on February 16, 1965, in Rigby, Idaho; he died April 6, 1992, in Idaho Falls. Eliza was a mother and a homemaker. She and her husband Ray owned Peoples Community Market and a variety store in Ririe and worked there for 20 years. Eliza was a manager for the State Liquor Dispensary. She also worked for many years as a clerk at Brown’s IGA Store. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions in the MIA and Relief Society. Eliza was an accomplished seamstress and made many Ririe High cheerleading outfits, as well as formals and wedding dresses for her daughters and granddaughters, and christening dresses for her grandchildren. She made a set of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and these have been treasured by all. Gardening was another great love of Eliza’s. She always raised a big garden and her shelves were filled with fruits of her labors. She loved flowers – especially roses – and grew many varieties and colors in her yard. Eliza’s grandchildren were always at her house, either in the cookie jar or learning from their grandma. She enjoyed every visit from each of them and they will miss her. She is survived by: Daughter, Dalene (Warren) Chase of Palisades, ID; Son, Brent Haws of Anaheim, CA; Daughter, Nancy (Skeet) Nace of Hampton, VA; Daughter, Bethene (Ron) Caudill of Ririe, ID; Son, Joe Haws of Ririe, ID; Step-son, Jeff Davis of Boise, ID; Brother, Leo Waters of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Max (Ann) Waters of Blackfoot, ID; Brother, Derrald (Marge) Waters of Blackfoot, ID Sister, Velma Mitchell of St. George, UT; 8 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; and 19 Great-great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ray Haws and Wes Davis; one sister, Lila Waters; three brothers, Floyd, Monte, and Warren Waters; a step-son, Steve Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Joan Haws. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Ririe LDS Stake Center, 14061 North 130 East, with Bishop Bruce Marler officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m Monday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services, both visitations at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Idaho Home Health & Hospice and Promontory Point Rehabilitation for their attentive help and care of Eliza. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eliza’s name may be sent to the Salvation Army, 605 N. Boulevard, Idaho Falls, ID 83402 or the American Cancer Society, 2686 S. Vista Avenue, Boise, ID 83705.

Funeral Services -- Tuesday

Tuesday November 15, 2011 , 11:00 a.m. at Ririe LDS Stake Center

The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, both visitations at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
