MARIE HURST DENVER, CO -- Elisa Marie Hansen Hurst, 91, died July 17, 2008, in Denver, Colorado. She was born November 29, 1916, in Tooele, Utah, to Charles Miller Hansen and Ruth Elin Person Hansen. Her father was killed at the Tooele Depot when she was only eight years old. After her father’s death, her mother moved the family to Idaho Falls to be near grandparents who had immigrated to Idaho from Norway. She attended schools in Idaho Falls, including Riverside and O.E. Bell. She worked as a bookkeeper for Stoddard Ford, Harris Publishing, and when she lived in Marina del Rey, CA, she worked for Sav-On Drug. She worked in Denver for Clear Creek Medical Society. Besides Idaho Falls, she lived in Tooele, UT, Orem, UT, Pocatello, California, and Denver. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. She taught the Young Women and was also a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple. Marie loved to learn and was self taught on many subjects. Family was the center of Marie’s life; she enjoyed every moment with them and was revered as the loving matriarch of her entire family. Survivors include: Sister: Marge Watson, Denver, Co Sister: Jean Eames, Menan Sister: Jeana (Dale) Lee, Idaho Falls Brother: Jack (Jan) Schofield, Idaho Falls Her large family also includes nieces and nephews: Ted & David Hansen, Renee Strang, Ricky Tomblinson, Donna Garriott & Jimmy Jenkins, Jackie Lee Newman, Karyn Thompson, Bob & Chris Watson, & Toni Hansen. Ed , Robert & Shawn Eames & Deborah Bennett. Ronda Bartlett, Sherry Schaat, Sherlene Valiquette, Tamera Kerbs & Michelle Manwaring, Kim Schofield & John Schofield. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. --------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Marva Dibble I am sorry I can't come and see all of you.
