ELEANOR MANDEL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Eleanor Louise Mandel, 89, of Idaho Falls, died February 19, 2007, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born January 26, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois, to Aaron William Mandel and Eleanor Kahlofer Mandel. Her family owned one of Chicago's largest and busiest department stores during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The family moved to Gulfport, Mississippi where Eleanor graduated from Gulfport High School.
Later, she moved to Los Angeles, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Moorpark, California In November, 2006, she moved back to Idaho Falls to be near her daughter.
She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, PEO and Red Hats. Eleanor enjoyed fishing, skiing, hiking, camping, needlepoint, knitting, and gourmet cooking. She was an avid world traveler, traveling to each of the seven continents.

Son: Raymond (Joan) Kasparian, Los Angeles, CA
Son: Ron (Anna) Kasparian, Torrance, CA
11 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 26, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Westlake Village, California. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran St., Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
