Eldon T. Croft, 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 13, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1916, in Iona, Idaho, to William Henry Croft and Florence Marie Thornton Croft. He grew up and attended school, graduating from Iona High School where he was active in sports.
On November 13, 1936, he married Elma Moss in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Elma preceded him in death on June 29, 2002. Eldon and his Dad owned and operated a sheep ranch and farm together in Iona and Bullsfork. Eldon took over the business upon his father’s death. He was a member of the Bonneville County School Board and Wool Growers Association.
Eldon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had been ordained to the office of High Priest, and served in various callings, including Elders’ Quorum President and High Priests’ Assistant Group Leader. He also served in the Scouting program and loved teaching the boys to tie knots. He and Elma helped with Girls Camp for over 20 years.
Eldon enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and anything in the mountains. He loved parties, dancing, and just having fun with his family.

Sister: Norma Croft Torngren, Iona, ID
27 Grandchildren, 64 Great Grandchildren, and 24 Great Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Thearl Croft; and a son-in-law, Larry Whitehead.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the Iona LDS 3rd Ward, 5169 E. Denning, Iona, with Bishop Randon Anderson officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon, and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
