Keppner Elden Hope, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 18, 2024.
Elden was born March 18, 1930, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Clarence Dewey Hope and Zella Keppner Hope. He grew up and attended schools in Burton, and then moved to Darlington, Idaho, and worked on the family farm.
On March 21, 1951, Elden married Joan Hunter in the Idaho Falls Temple. Elden and Joan made their home in Shelley, Idaho, where he worked in the dairy farm industry.
Elden was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He always maintained a beautiful garden. He was a hard worker and enjoyed getting the family’s firewood. He loved picking huckleberries, and traveling to visit family.
Elden is survived by his children, Mary Ann Hope, Courtney Hope, and Rodrick Hope; sister, Phyllis (Leon) Powell of Moore, ID; brother, Lavere (Kay) Hope of Idaho Falls, ID; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Hope; parents, Clarence & Zella Hope; son, Burdett Hope; six brothers; and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Rexburg Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
