ELAINE J. CHRISTENSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Elaine Janes Christensen, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 4, 2007, at Life Care Center. She was born May 9, 1925, in Ogden, Utah, to Edward Vincent Janes and Blanche Marian Tracy Janes. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Bonneville High School. She attended nursing school in Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City and graduated with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married Kenneth Christensen in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She worked as a practical nurse at LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls and later at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Kenneth preceded her in death 16 years ago, after which she moved to Idaho Falls. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years. She enjoyed traveling. An avid sports fan, Elaine loved football and loved following BYU football and the Utah Jazz. Survivors include: Sister: Ardys “Babe” Carter of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Anna (Burt) Henderson of Dillon, MT Sister: Wilma (Clyde) Rust of Portland, OR She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Ellen Maurine Ricks and Kathleen Ross, and two brothers, Edward “Bud” Janes and Paul Oswald Janes. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Saturday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
