Eileen Soelberg McKinney Gardner, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 14, 2017, at Promontory Point Rehabilitation.

Eileen was born September 20, 1925, in Washington DC, to Earl James Soelberg and Exie Alberta Singley Soelberg. She grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and Idaho Falls and graduated from Roland Hall Finishing School in Salt Lake City.

On August 9, 1944, she married Benjamin John McKinney in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born three children, Sandra, David, and Frank "Skip". Eileen and Benjamin made their home all around the country as they moved with Ben’s job as a manager and vice president with J.C. Penney. Eileen was a homemaker. Ben passed away on June 7, 1979.

In 1982, she married Jack. D. Gardner in Idaho Falls. He passed away August 28, 2008.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eileen was a world traveler and an avid reader. She loved gardening and handwork.

Eileen is survived by daughter, Sandra Eileen (Ben) Russell of Burlington, NC; son, David John (Leslie) McKinney of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Frank Harris (Peggy) McKinney II of Plano, TX; sister, Renee (Lloyd) Page of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Betty Larsen of American Fork, UT; sister, Marilyn (Dennis) Morrow of Indian Wells, CA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her parents, and brothers Cornell Earl, Winston James, Dean Singley, and Ray Bruce Soelberg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
