EDWIN "BUD" TAWZER ST. GEORGE, UT -- Edwin "Bud" Tawzer, 93, a former resident of Idaho Falls, passed away May 10, 2008, at his home in St George, Utah. He was born April 22, 1915, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Charles Preston Tawzer and Ida Augusta Torneten Tawzer. The Tawzer family moved to Idaho when he was two years old and settled on the Henry Torneten farm in the Ammon area following the untimely death of his maternal grandfather, Henry Torneten. The brothers enjoyed athletics and playing baseball with a farmers league that won several pennants with Edwin "Bud" pitching and Elmer catching. Ed also liked bowling, dancing, playing pool and family trips and outings. After retirement they spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, and St George, Utah. He married Phoebe Ann Peterson July 12, 1939, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and they would have celebrated their 69th anniversary this year. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in December, 1952. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They enjoyed visiting the historical sites of the church and the historical sites of the USA, Mexico, Europe and Hawaii. They are the parents of Joy Tawzer (deceased), Charles (Elaine) Tawzer of St George, UT, Lynn (Dixie) Tawzer of Mesa, AZ, and Holly Murdock of St George, UT. They have 11 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, two deceased (Kaylee and Lindsey Tawzer) and five great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. ------------------------------------ Condolences received online: Connie Maxfield Carlson connie@fallsinsurance.com I never realized how much Charles looks like his father until I saw the picture in the paper today. What a great family this was. I attended Bonneville High with Joy, Charles and Lynn, and they were good examples of hard work, which they learned from their parents.
