Edwin Clarence Hahn, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
Ed was born March 15, 1928, in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, to John Hahn and Daisy Benner Hahn. After he graduated from Lehighton High School, he continued his education at Penn State. He served his country in the United States Army.
On July 20, 1947, he married Sylvia “Sue” Fern Xander in Lehighton. Together they had five children. The family moved to Idaho Falls in 1958 when Ed took a job as a Metallurgist for Westinghouse at the INL.
Ed was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He served on the Board of Directors and volunteered in various activities. He was involved with the Idaho Falls Community Band and enjoyed volunteering at the Food Bank.
Ed loved music, particularly playing the saxophone, and watching sports. Ed was very much a family man and treasured the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered as a selfless individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Wife: Sue Hahn of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Ed (Janice) Hahn, Jr., of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Holly (Jeff) Leveton of Vancouver, WA;
Son: Mark (Cindy) Hahn of South Jordan, UT;
Son: Chris (Cassy)Hahn of West Jordan, UT; and
8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren;
Sister: Jean Gale of Lincolnton, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Candice Hahn; his brothers, Vernon Hahn, Dave Hahn, Glen Hahn, and Al Hahn; and sisters, June Siglin and Elizabeth Hahn.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home.
