Edith H. Nelson - 08/08/2002 Edith H. Nelson - 08/08/2002 EDITH H. NELSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Edith Nelson, 98, of Idaho Falls, died August 8, 2002, at Lily Home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born October 13, 1903, at Goshen, Idaho, the youngest of seven children born to Hiram Hansen and Martha Halvorsen Hansen. She grew up in Goshen and attended school in Shelley, where she graduated from Shelley High School. After high school she worked for Utah Power & Light in Shelley and Idaho Falls. She married Earl Russell Nelson July 17, 1926, at Pocatello. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. Her husband passed away in October, 1971. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, and sewing. An elegant, friendly lady who was always impeccably dressed, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Carolyn [Dave] Godfrey, Allyson Akers, Kevin [Teresa] Wakeman, Steven [Karen] Wakeman, Susie [Larry] Houx, Richard [Teresa] Nelson, Michael Nelson, Teresa [Kelly] Hoyle, Mark Nelson, Kim [Daren] Lewis, Stacey Fraser, and Julie Fraser. Surviving are:Daughter: Beverly [Bill] Wakeman, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter-In-Law: Elva Nelson, Idaho Falls, ID 14 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 16 Great Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Martha L. Fraser, two sons, Russell E. Nelson and John Golden Nelson, and a grandson, Robert Nelson. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, with Donald Maughn officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
