Edison Franco

Edison P. Franco, 63, of Antioch, California, passed away January 7, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Edison was born December 18, 1961, in Manila, Philippines, to Maximino  Franco and Cecilia Varanauskas. He grew up and attended schools in Manila and graduated from Far Eastern University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

On June 7, 1981, he married Ma. Theresa L. Franco in Metro Manila, Philippines. Edison and Theresa made their home in Metro Manila where Edison owned a construction company. He built residential and commercial buildings and towers all over the Philippines. They moved to Antioch, California, in 2019 where he worked as a project designer/engineer in Daly City, California. They eventually moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, on November 10, 2024, to be closer to family.

Edison was a member of Rotary Club North Caloocan - Philippines. He enjoyed singing, golfing, cooking, and shopping.

Edison is survived by his wife, Theresa Franco of Antioch, California; daughters, Marie Kristine Franco-Yamashita of Fukuoka, Japan, Shiela Franco of Idaho Falls, and Edelweise Franco of Manila, Philippines; sons, Ericsson (Joy) Franco and Sir Jefferson Franco, both of Manila, Philippines; mother, Cecilia Varanauskas of Manhattan, NY; sisters, Vivian (Christopher) Adams of Aurora, CO, Gemina (Morell) Buenaflor of Philippines, and Rhinalyn Denoga of Philippines; and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maximino Franco.

A Gathering will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
