EDGAR CLEMENTS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Edgar Silas Clements, 71, passed away
July 13, 2004, following a battle with cancer and a stroke. He was in
his home surrounded by his family at his time of death.
Edgar was the oldest of three boys, born on March 8,
1933, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Silas Prentiss Clements and Sarah Mock Clements.
Edgar was raised in Rexburg, graduated from Madison High School, and then
went on to attend Ricks College. Edgar met his bride-to-be, Dorothy Iona
Merrill, while attending Ricks College. They were married in the Idaho
Falls LDS Temple on April 9, 1952. They lived in Rexburg for two years,
then moved to Idaho Falls, where they raised their family of eight children
(one daughter and seven sons).
Edgar was in the floor covering business for many years.
He then ventured into real estate, insurance, accounting, small business
computer support, and small business ownership. Edgar's greatest love
was his family. He taught his family love, honesty and work through his
example.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, daughter Debra (Craig)
Morgan of Sugar City, Idaho, sons, Brad (Diana) of Ft. Collins, Colorado,
Jim (Joanne) of Oxford, Ohio, Paul (Jackie) of Burns, Oregon, Royce (Sherry)
of Idaho Falls, Stuart (Lisa) of Draper, Utah, Bryan (Connie) of Frisco,
Texas, Kendall (Christine) of Mesa, Arizona, 29 grandchildren, and 9 great
grandchildren, and his two brothers, Gary (Echo) of Sugar City, Idaho,
and Kirkland (Linda) of Bancroft, Idaho.
Throughout his life Edgar was happiest when he was camping
with his family, at family reunions, or just family get-togethers. Many
great memories were made on a small patch of land above Bone called "The
Ranch."
Edgar was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints and served in many different capacities, including
Scoutmaster, Elders Quorum President, Bishop's Counselor, Stake Sunday
School President, High Priest Group Leader, and Officiator at the Idaho
Falls Temple.
Edgar touched many people throughout his life with his
great sense of humor, his wisdom and his genuine love and compassion for
others. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in his
children.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July
