Eden Forrest Wright, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 31, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Eden was born August 30, 1927, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Earl F. Wright and Lucy Mary McNee Wright. He grew up and attended school in Eden and graduated from Eden High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He also graduated from Idaho State College with a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Math.
On June 12, 1951, he married Betty Lou Black in Eden, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Torrance and Newbury Park, California, for 50 years, where they raised their family of four children, Vicki, Pamela, Randy, and Rob. Eden worked as an Electronics Engineer for Hughes Aircraft. After his retirement they moved to Idaho Falls.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities over the years, including ordinance worker in the Los Angeles and Idaho Falls Temples, Ward Clerk, ward missionary, High Priest Group Leader, and in scouting. In his younger years he coached Little League for several years. He enjoyed oil painting, photography, and model trains. Eden was a handyman and could repair just about anything.
Eden is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Wright of Idaho Falls;

Daughter, Pamela (Patrick) Mayo of Ammon, ID;
Son, Randy (Leslie) Wright of Moorpark, CA,
Son, Rob (Monica) Wright of Shelley, ID;
Brother, Earl "Buzz" (Judy) Wright of Rupert, ID;
Sister, Coleen Duncan of Heyburn, ID, and
Sister, Arleen Woodbridge of Rupert, ID;
11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucy Wright, and a grandson, Marshall Scott “Scottie” Moore, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood East Side and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, both at Wood East Side.
