Eddie L Poole

Eddie L Poole, 85, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away January 18, 2025, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Eddie was born October 26, 1939, in Salmon, Idaho, to Joseph Ellsworth Poole and Aurella Hansen Poole. He was raised and attended schools in Dillon, Montana; Salmon, Idaho; and Menan, Idaho.

Eddie married Jean Jackson on January 30, 1960, in Menan. They were blessed with four daughters, two sons, and 65 years of marriage.

Eddie was baptized as a born again Christian at Calvary Chapel Church in Idaho Falls.

Eddie was a very hard worker in the logging and car crushing industry. He was an excellent mechanic with vehicle restorations. He excelled in upholstery work. He won 1st place at a car show for the best upholstery work. He was a self-taught genius.

He could make anything out of anything and make it work. He loved to draw directions on napkins and make sure you were following step by step. He loved his coffee time with his friends and family, sharing life experiences from childhood to adulthood. He had the best adventures, some funny and some not so funny. He loved joking around and making people laugh--and he loved his Harleys! Eddie is survived by his wife, Jean Jackson Poole of Rigby, ID; four daughters, Becky Morast of Rigby, ID, Barbara (Doug) Stacey of Rigby, ID, Cindy (Todd) Barber of Menan, ID, Christine (Steve) Lowe of Idaho Falls, ID; two sons, Byron (Teresa) Poole of Rigby, ID and Darwin Poole of Idaho Falls, ID; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; two sisters; four grandchildren, Jordan James, Ethan James, Brandon Stacey, and Megan Johnson; and step-grandson, Alex Barber.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
