On April 17, 2015, the love of my life and hero of our three children was called home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus. Our lives were richly blessed on September 24, 1962, when Edward Skid South was born to Janice Wade in Idaho Falls, Idaho. My Sweet Ed suffered from unexplainable leg pain from his early twenties which was a mystery to Ed, Buffie, and others. Through all the years of pain, Ed worked hard to provide for his family. After every test we could think of had been run, he bravely accepted the thought, as he told me, “Some people just have pain.” Ed tried every home remedy, hot baths, heating pads, heated blankets, and medication. In the end, or I say beginning, for Ed’s new life in heaven with our Lord Jesus and a new body with no pain, his little tired earthly body could endure no more. I believe that Ed had so much love and concern for others that his little heart was not able to keep up with all the love this precious man’s heart was pouring out. At times in over-caring and always protecting his family he could be misunderstood, but Ed had a heart of gold. In the last two months his pain was severe. A pain that none of us could understand. In a last ditch effort to do something special for his wife— buying her a kitchen table he knew would make her happy— which he found while he was purchasing a car for his daughter at a gentleman’s home, he stumbled across a kitchen table that he had to have that day for Buffie. He came across a massage chair that he asked, “Will this fix my legs?” Ed spent much of his time in the massage chair, wrapped up in blankets. Little did we know that our compassionate Lord and Savior was making Ed as comfortable as He could before He called him home to be with Him where he will endure no more pain or tears. Thank You Lord Jesus, though my heart is very saddened at our loss, I rejoice that my sweet husband is at home in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus. Ed and Buffie were married in 1992 and had three beautiful children who were the apple of Ed’s eye. Nothing his children or wife needed or wanted was ever too much. It didn’t matter where he was or what he was doing, the world stopped when his children or wife were in need. Ed loved super heroes. He is our earthly super hero. Ed graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1981 and attended Idaho State University for a short time. Ed went to work at Hertz Car Sales in 1990 until September 2014. Ed always said the Lord provided him with his position at Hertz Car Sales as their service manager for 24 plus years, which allowed him to provide for his family. He was very grateful. Ed was an excellent service manager. He truly cared deeply. Ed’s Hertz family was special to him. He loved each one of them, ones who had been with him at Hertz for 25 years, and others who had moved on. Ed loved you all dearly. You were his second family. He expressed this often. Ed’s interest was his family. He loved Disneyland. He was able to go one last time this last February, where he was able to enjoy his mom and dad, Buffie, and his babies. He was saddened that his precious daughter Kaylee was unable to attend, but we had many beautiful memories of our family at what Ed called our special family spot on earth, Disneyland. Ed was a Christian man. He loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. In fact, when he would ask me to pray with him, I could count on a 30 to 45 minute prayer session. At times, I admit, I said, “Is it time for Amen?” Ed had a very special relationship with his Lord and Savior. I rejoice in their relationship and know in my heart that the Lord blessed me for 25 years with the most precious man my heart will ever know. I think thank him for lending such a sweet soul to me and my children but their relationship was strong and Jesus wanted him home with him. Now I can truly only imagine what my sweetheart is seeing and experiencing as he is in the presence of Jesus, his Grandma Winnie, whom he loved so much, his two sisters, Tyrra and Tiffany. I want to express that Ed loved all his family and friends, each had a special place tucked away in his heart. His uncles were like fathers to him growing up. His cousins were all dear to him. He loved each of them. He had a special little spot for his sweet little cousins, Cheryl Ann and Chuck who loved each other with such an unconditional love. Ed was at great peace hiving his son Chris having married Jenasee just last year and with open arms he invited his daughter Kaylee’s boyfriend Taylor into our family. He was very happy with our new extended family. Ed told me recently he had adopted in his heart two special sons, Colton and Taylor. His heart was huge. Ed is survived by his wife Buffie; his three precious children, Chase, Chris and Jenasee, Kaylee, and as his two adopted sons, Colton and Taylor; his mother and father, Janice and Harold Brockelsby, whom he cherished and loved so much; and his special four legged babies, Panzer, Mickey, and Bruno. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Tyrra and Tiffany, his Grandma Winnie, and Grandpa “Chub” Wade. My sweetheart, this is not goodbye, but a see you in a while. I know you will be checking everything out in heaven so you can show us around.
