Click Here To View Funeral Services Live Click Here To View Memorial Video Earl William Sim, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Earl was born May 26, 1930, in Evanston, WY, to Harold Eddie Sim and Leotta Bell Hennefer Sim. He grew up and attended schools in Evanston and in Ogden, Utah. On May 26, 1951, he married Doris Arlene Creek in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. Earl was a Master Chief in the Navy, and served his country honorably in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He traveled the world during his career in the Navy, including living on the California and Oregon coasts, in Washington state, and he retired from the Navy while living in Santa Barbara, California. They moved to Idaho Falls in 2013 to be closer to family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Earl is survived by his loving wife of more than 62 years, Doris Sim of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Timothy (Cyndie) Sim of Federal Way, WA; daughter, Amy (Bryan) Humpherys of Canyon Country, CA; son, Shelby (Amy) Sim of Santa Barbara, CA; daughter, Mandi (Jim) Alvord of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Brenda) Sim of Sandy, UT; brother, Gordon Sim; sister, Janet Marsella of San Jose, CA; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Sim, and a daughter, Lucy Sim. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. There will be a viewing from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
