Dwight Allen Linger

Dwight Allen Linger, 77, of Shelley, passed away September 28, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Dwight was born October 12, 1945, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Carl Linger and Audrey Smith Linger. He grew up and attended schools in Mudlake, Idaho, and graduated from West Jefferson High School. Dwight served in the United States Army.

On August 14, 1965, he married Donna Jean Park at York Grange in Idaho Falls. Dwight and Donna made their home in Rigby, Idaho, where Dwight worked as a mechanic for Basic American Foods. He worked many jobs leading up to his retirement in Shelley, Idaho.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and family time.

Dwight is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Linger of Rigby, ID, and Louise (Daniel) Barnes of Rigby, ID; 9 brothers; 2 sisters; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Audrey Linger; wife, Donna Linger; granddaughter, Amillya Barnes; great-granddaughter, Ally; and sister, Gail Linger.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the East Rigby Stake Center, 4021 E. 300 N, Rigby, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby. Military Honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
