Duane Harris Burtenshaw

Duane Harris Burtenshaw, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 1, 2026, at Promontory Point Rehabilitation.

Duane was born January 6, 1931, in Shelton, Idaho, to John Harris Burtenshaw and Lottie Marie Ball Burtenshaw. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He also attended Ricks College where he met his future wife, Enid.

On October 28, 1955, he married Enid Faye Black in the Idaho Falls Temple. Duane and Enid made their home in Ucon, where Duane worked as a grain buyer for Pillsbury.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Johannesburg, South Africa. He enjoyed auctions, swap meets, garage sales, and going to Deseret Industries.

Duane is survived by his daughter, Julie (Dan) Hammon of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Paula (Matthew) Light of Eagle Mountain, UT; daughter, Ann Lyman of Sarasota, FL; son, Jesse Burtenshaw of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Becky (Kirk) Buer of Reynoldsburg, OH; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Lottie Burthenshaw; and his wife, Enid Faye Burtenshaw.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
