Drusilla Russell Homer, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 26, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 15, 1925, in Woodville, Idaho to William Alford Russell and Lettie Laurena Collings Russell. She grew up in the area, attended Coltman Elementary and graduated from Shelley High School.
On February 28, 1945, she married Albert Earl Homer in San Diego, California. They resided in San Diego for two years, moved to Los Angeles for 36 years, and then moved to Grants Pass, Oregon for 14 years. Fifteen years ago she moved to Idaho Falls where she has since resided. Drusilla was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In her earlier years she worked as a waitress at Gills Grill in Idaho Falls and an inspector in the fuel cell division at Firestone Tire and Rubber in South Gate, California.
Drusilla was a professional artist and taught art at her studio in South Gate and later at the Senior Center in Idaho Falls. She was president of the Art Association in South Gate and in Josephine County in Grants Pass, Oregon and also served in other leadership roles. She was a member of and held leadership positions in the Eagle Rock Art Association in Idaho Falls. She expressed her love of nature and the beauty of the world around her through her art. She loved her beautiful Idaho.
Drusilla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was proud of her pioneer heritage. She enjoyed painting, carving, and wire wrap jewelry making.

Russell, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Merrill D. Russell, St. George, UT Brother: Vernon J. Russell, St. Anthony, ID Brother: David K. Russell, Shelley, ID Sister: Guelda M. Gates, St. George, UT Sister: Ina Jean Chandler, St. George, UT 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Lettie Russell; her husband, Albert Earl Homer; two sons, Darwin Earl Homer and Dayle R. Homer; and two sisters, L. Delpha Oster and Kathy L. Leavitt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Shadow Mountain Trail Ward (3721 Shadow Mountain Trail Rd.) with Bishop Brad Couch officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Tuesday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
