Doyle Ison Stocking

Doyle Ison Stocking was reunited with extended family members when he passed away on September 24, 2021, at Community Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Doyle was born on March 25, 1938, at the family farm house in Minidoka County, Idaho.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose love for his family was exceeded by his love for his Heavenly Father and his Savior. Doyle was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a two-year church mission to Australia as part of the last group of missionaries to travel by boat to that mission. Thereafter, fulfilling many callings throughout his life. He particularly enjoyed any calling working with the youth and serving in the Idaho Falls Temple. Throughout his life, he looked out for others and gave any needed service to neighbors and friends. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and while there met his eternal sweetheart, Carol Hammon. They were married in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on June 14, 1963, and would be side by side for the next 58 years.

Doyle is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Carol; his brother, Earl Stocking of Buhl, Idaho; five sons, Kevin Stocking (Leslie) of Agate, Colorado, Kyle Stocking (Francie) of Boise, Idaho, Randy Stocking (Kaylene) of Rigby, Idaho, Rod Stocking (Christy) of Rigby, Idaho, Daryl Stocking (Connie) of Ephrata, Washington; 24 sweet grandchildren, and nine precious great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burdette Ruben and Mary Francis Ison; three sisters, Winona Rasmussen, Utahna Hurst, and Ailene Stocking; and three brothers, J.A., Vern, and Lamoyne. What an amazing reunion they are having!

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at the St. Leon LDS Church at 6925 North 15th East, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Bishop Jerry Petersen officiating. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 6:30-8:00 pm at Wood Funeral Home East, 963 South Ammon Road and prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Iona Cemetery.
