DOUGLAS TYLER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Douglas Lee Tyler, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 4, 2006, at his home. He was born November 10, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to J. Douglas Tyler and Dorothy L. Cleverley Tyler. He grew up and attended schools in the Idaho Falls area, graduating from Bonneville High School in 1961. He later graduated from the Police Academy in Los Angeles, California. He married Laura Erickson August 29, 1964, in Idaho Falls, to which a son and a daughter were born. He worked for the Los Angeles Police Department for 18 years, retiring early due to poor health. His wife preceded him in death. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed time with his family, fishing in Island Park, and taking pride in his yard and home. Survivors include: Daughter: Traci (Scott) Snouffer, Thornton, CO Son: Troy Tyler, Longmont, CO Sister: Bonnie (Oral) Elser, Rigby, ID Sister: Carol Beth (Evan) Miner, Columbus, IN Sister: JoAnne (Tom) Haynes, Idaho Falls, ID 5 Grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Tom Haynes officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. ----------------------------------------------- Condolences sent online: Nan Bailey My sincere sympathy in the loss of your father and brother.
