Douglas Wayne Edgell

Douglas Wayne Edgell, 51, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 1, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Douglas was born May 14, 1973, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to Leslie Wayne Edgell and Darla Kay Winemiller Edgell. He grew up and attended schools in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

On June 1, 2002, he married Michelle Ruth Edgell in French Creek, West Virginia. Douglas and Michelle made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Douglas worked as a locomotive engineer for CSX Transportation for 25 years.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET). He enjoyed trains, fishing, hunting, and being with friends and family.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Michelle Ruth Edgell of Idaho Falls, ID; father, Leslie Wayne (Carol) Edgell of Ararat, VA; daughter, Amber (Brandon) Tsosie of Idaho Falls, ID; father-in-law, Robert Hawkins of Buckhannon, WV; sister, Cindi Helmick of Buckhannon, WV; grandmother, Marian Harris of Elkins, WV; and sister-in-law, Bobie (Eric) Burkett of Greencastle, PA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darla Kay Edgell, and mother-in-law, Zelda Ruth Hawkins.

Private family services will be held on May 14, 2025, in West Virginia.
