Dorthy Kingston

Dorthy "Dot" Phelps Kingston, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 9, 2018, at Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls. Dorthy was born September 27, 1928, in Sacramento, CA, to Harry Orville Phelps and Pearl Atkins Phelps. She grew up in Northern California where she attended Catholic Schools. On June 23, 1945, she married Mark Kingston in Reno, Neveda. To this union were born four children: Carolyn, Janae, Dave, and Mike. Dorthy was a mother who worked hard and was devoted to her family. She worked at Hill Air Force Base in operations. The children’s father passed away August 16, 2005. Dorthy enjoyed gardening, tole painting, and loved spending time with her family. She was a great cook who loved to host family and company get togethers. Dorthy is survived by daughter, Carol Sommers of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Janae Kingston of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mike Kingston of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dave Kingston of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great granddaughter, Sabryn Sommers. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
