DOROTHY KROLL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dorothy LaFaye Ritchie Kroll, 80,
of Ucon, died September 25, 2004, at her home.
She was born March 17, 1924, near Idaho Falls, to Alfred
Coop Ritchie and Wilhelmina Constance Birdie Price Ritchie. Shortly after
she was born the family moved to Ucon, where she grew up and attended
school. She graduated from Ucon High School.
She married Boyd Kroll on January 31, 1942, in Ucon.
They spent 62 years together. Because of her husband’s career in
the U.S. Navy, they lived in many different places in the United States.
They retired in 1978 and built a home in Ucon, where they have since resided.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, and was an activist for
the environment and animal protection. Dorothy especially loved spending
time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd Kroll; her daughter,
Pat Bateman of Boise; two sons, Rick (Deb) Kroll of Idaho Falls and Wayne
(Sandra) Kroll of Pocatello; one sister, Shirley Guymon of Idaho Falls;
six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by a brother, Alfred “Fred” Ritchie and three sisters, Ruby
Bailey, Joy Drake and Donna Peterson.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
September 29, 2004, at the Ucon Cemetery, under the direction of Wood
Funeral Home East Side.
