Dorothy Clements

Dorothy May Clements, 86, of Ammon, passed away November 17, 2010, at her home. She was born March 5, 1924, in Poplar, Idaho to William John Fredrick Staggie and Laura May Webster Staggie. She grew up in the area and attended schools in Osgood, Lewisville and also attended Madison High School. On February 16, 1946, she married Levi N. Clements in Thornton, Idaho. They resided in Ammon for over 50 years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 25, 1998. Dorothy was a mother and homemaker. She owned and operated Dot’s Café in Idaho Falls with her husband. She later worked at Roger Brothers, Southlands Warehouse, and French’s from which she retired. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP). She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a visiting teacher. She enjoyed writing poetry, playing the piano, reading, knitting, and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and being with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are: Son: William “Bill” (Sylvia) Clements, Rigby, ID Son: Gary Lynn (Peggy) Clements, Rigby, ID Daughter: Cheryl Orlene (Bob) Berry, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Lorin N. (Trudy) Clements, Richland, WA Son: Dale Harlin (Debbie) Clements, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Dorothy Jean Porter, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Elizabeth Waterman, Sweethome, OR Sister: Ruby Brammer, Iona, ID 32 Grandchildren and 56 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Roland Levi and Donald “Donny” Lee. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward (3000 Central Ave.) with Bishop Ryan Kohler, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Dorothy to the National Federation of the Blind, c/o Harry Gawith, 410 Avenue H, Boise, ID 83712.

Funeral Services

Saturday November 20, 2010 , 1:00 p.m. at Ammon LDS 1st Ward

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 12 noon - 12:45 p.m. at the church.
