Dorothy Chase

Dorothy Lucile Chase, 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 5, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Dorothy was born November 11, 1921, to William Vern Flitton and Lucile Evelyn Alvord. She was the 2nd child and grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She married Kenneth Oray Chase April 27, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. Kenneth and Dorothy are the parents of 4 children: David, Gregory, Richard, and Pamela "Redd." They lived in Terreton, Idaho, where she drove school bus for 24 years. She loved sewing, making lots of their clothing, canning, and baking. Dorothy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. She is a member of the Woodruff 1st Ward, Idaho Falls Ammon West Stake. Dorothy and her husband served a mission in Mexico City, Mexico. Her greatest love was working on family history and genealogy which she did her entire life. She was actively involved with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also loved camping and spending time with all of her family. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Kenneth Chase of Idaho Falls, ID; son Gregory Lynn (Genny) Chase of San Diego, CA; son Richard Bradley (Rachel) Chase of Ammon, ID; daughter Pamela "Redd" Delores (Allan) Zweifel of Millington, TN; 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, David Oray (Darla) Chase; her parents; and 3 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Woodruff LDS 1st Ward Building, 1660 12th Street, with Bishop Kolby Cazier officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 9:30–10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Terreton.
