Dorothy Joan Beal Walker, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 24, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
Dorothy was born November 22, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Robert Wesley Beal and Nancy Ritchie Beal. She grew up in Ririe and Idaho Falls and attended Riverside Central School in Idaho Falls.
On November 8, 1950, she married Harold J. Buttars in Butte, Montana. They were later divorced. Harold passed away in 2015.
On March 16, 1990, she married Ralph Barton Walker in Pocatello, Idaho. Dorothy and Ralph made their home in Idaho Falls where Dorothy was a homemaker. She also worked as a custodian. Ralph passed away in 2009.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lorna (Larry Grange) Buttars of Idaho Falls, ID, Carol (Dean) Fullmer of Menan, ID, and Marcie (Michael Howe) Buttars-Tarbet of Shoreline, WA; sons, Kenny (Shelly) Buttars of Shelley, ID and Mark Buttars of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and her daughter, Kathy McBride.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. July 30, 2024, at the Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
