DORMAND HANSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dormand Ralph Hanson, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 25, 2006, at the home of his stepdaughter in Barstow, California. He was born July 7, 1916, in Grand Valley (Indian Creek), Idaho to Gus and Isabel Hanson. The family lived in Swan Valley until he was 14 years old, when they moved to Rexburg and he attended Madison High School. He started worked on the Edwin Harris farm in 1935, where he met his future wife, Verla D. Harris. They were married October 7, 1936, in Ririe. He later worked with his brother as a building contractor until 1992. Verla passed away July 8, 1990. On March 23, 1991, he married Aliene Atkinson in Idaho Falls. Dormand loved fishing and hunting. Surviving are: His Wife: Aliene Hanson of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Dormand O. (Judy) Hanson of Apex, NC Daughter: Lois A. Ross of Kirkland, WA Son: Don E. Hanson of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kenneth B. Hanson of Lake Waccamaw, NC Stepdaughter: Eugena Marty of Barstow, CA Stepson: Tommy Atkinson of Barstow, CA Brother: Robert K. Hanson of St. George, UT Brother: Wallace D. Hanson of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Gertrude Beck of Coeur d’Alene, ID Sister: Mary Blanch Hanson of Duluth, MN 18 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and a stepson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home.
