She met her future husband S. L. (Sandy) Squires while attending Links Business College in Boise, Idaho, where he was stationed at Gowan Field with the U.S. Army Air Corps. S.L. was transferred to Rapid City, South Dakota, where they were married in 1942. In 1945, Doris and S. L. returned to Idaho Falls, where they lived for the remainder of their lives.
They had three girls, Doris Ann, born in Rapid City, and Pamela Sue and Jill, born in Idaho Falls. In 1975 Doris retired from Mtn. Bell after 17 years of service and spent the rest of her life caring for her family.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Doris Ann Aiman and Pamela Sue (Robert) Chase of Idaho Falls, Jill (Nicholas) Gioello of Clarkdale, AZ, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, S.L., in 1999, three brothers and five sisters.
Doris requests no funeral, but a celebration of her life on a warm summer day.
Doris will be cremated and her ashes combined with her husband’s and their one and only dog, Gucci. As Mother has said many times, “sprinkle our ashes and we’ll fly away together."
