Doris Fowler

DORIS FOWLER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Doris rejoined her husband Bob on September 25, 2008. At age 87, she decided her time here with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was complete. Born in Idaho Falls to William Clark and Zina Christensen Clark, she attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1939. Then there came the War. With Bob in the Army, Doris went to Los Angeles to join the war effort as a riveter. She spent that adventure (4-5 years) waiting for Bob to return and begin her life experience raising their daughters Linda and Dixie. Later, her five granddaughters Kara, Courtney, Kirstin, Erin, and Ashley became the joys of her life. In the past two years, she was blessed to have Kayla and Cale, great-grandchildren, in her heart and soul. What a pleasure it was to have these seven extraordinary children in her life, and she in theirs. Daughters Linda and Dixie have lovingly cared for her in the past several years, as age and declining health became factors. We shall all miss, and will never be able to duplicate, the pumpkin pie, the caramel popcorn, and the special bags of jerky delivered by Doris. Survivors include: Daughter: Linda Humphries, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Dixie McFarlane, Macks Inn, ID Brother: Melvin Clark 5 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday for one hour prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. --------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Jeff Moore jeffmoore87@gmail.com I wanted to send my condolences on the passing of Mrs. Fowler. I spoke with her two years ago after my mother died and she was very caring and supportive. You are in my thoughts. -- Jeff Adeana Stosich adeana@stosich.com Dear Linda & Dixie, So sorry about the loss of your mother. Know that my thought are with you. Love, Adeana Linda Elliott Dixie and Linda - My heartfelt prayers are with you and your families in the loss of your mother. Cherish the memories! Linda Elliott Chad Rogers chad@rhinvestment.com Dixie, I have such fond memories of your mother. She welcomed me in your home when we were teenagers and made me feel like family. With all the kids at my house you could only eat at mealtimes, but I could always go over to your house and Doris would always fix me something to eat. When I left for my mission she let me leave the stuff I didn't want my brothers to get at over there for two years. I have thought about her often over the years and my thoughts and prayers and deepest condolences are with you now. Your forever friend, Chad Amy Geary Dixie and Linda, I am sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I know she enjoyed her family above all else. She was so kind to me as she was everyone and I will never forget her pride at her first grandchild. You all were truly blessed to have her as a mother and grandmother. Sincerely, Amy Geary (formerly McFarlane)
