DORINE J. POTTER
TERRETON, ID -- Dorine
Joy Potter, 72, of Terreton, Idaho, passed away June 2, 2003, at her home.
She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born July 3, 1930, in
Roberts, Idaho, to Harry Clay (Jack) Gerard and Doris Louise Abbott Gerard.
She grew up in the Terreton and Mud Lake areas and attended Terreton and
Roberts Elementary schools and Roberts High School, graduating in 1948.
On August 3, 1948 she married
Joseph Benjamin Potter, Jr. at the First Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls.
She worked as a secretary at the AEC (INEEL) and later at Hill Milling.
She received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Utah
State University and later worked as a school teacher at Terreton Elementary
and West Jefferson High School. She retired from teaching school in 1988.
She was a member of the Mud Lake
Historical Society and Lady Lions. She was also an EMT for Jefferson County.
She was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Mud Lake and the West
Jefferson Senior Citizens. Dorine was honored as “Citizen of the Year”
by the West Jefferson Lions Club in July, 2002. Her hobbies included playing
cards, soft ball, oil painting, choir, local history, world travel, and
the “HATEMULEMO “ Club.

Daughter: Karen (Jeff) Jordan, Spokane, WA.
Son: Russ Potter, Pocatello, ID
Son: Bill (Tara) Potter, Pocatello, ID
Brother: Jim (Cecil) Gerard, Basalt, ID
Brother: Robin Gerard, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Mary Wallace, Orinda, CA
Sister: Janet (Olie) Black, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Julie Dillon, San Francisco, CA
7 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild .
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be at
2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273
North Ridge Avenue, with Pastor Jim Rogers of the Mud Lake Community Baptist
Church officiating. The family will visit
with friends Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral
Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial
Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
