Dorel Greenhalgh Kump, 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 11, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice. She grew up and attended Santaquin Elementary and graduated from Payson High School in Utah. Dorel spent her youth helping her parents with their small farm. She learned to work hard and loved gardening with her dad. She enjoyed all the advantages of growing up in a small town. She could easily walk or ride her horse to town. She was related or knew almost all of the people in her small town. Dorel met the love of her life, Albert O. Kump on a December evening while with her sister and her soon to be sister-in-law. On December 28, 1944, just two weeks after she met Albert, they were married in Santaquin, Utah. This marriage of sweethearts was enjoyed for 60 years and was solemnized January 2, 1952, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City for five years, and Jerome, Idaho for 43 years where they raised their six children. They were partners in Custom Floors of Idaho (a floor covering store) in Twin Falls for more than 40 years. After retirement 25 years ago they moved to Idaho Falls. Albert passed away on September 5, 2005. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as secretary in Relief Society, Young Women's president, and many more. Albert and Dorel served in the Palmira, New York Mission in 1987-87. Dorel was active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers for over 60 years. Dorel enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, hardanger, and quilting. Since January, Dorel made seven quilts, finishing her last one a couple of weeks ago. When they moved to Idaho Falls she became a volunteer for EIRMC for 2 years. She was very sweet and never wanted to hurt anyone's feelings. She will be greatly missed by her large family. We love you so much mom and so happy dad came to get you on his 100th birthday.
