DEE H. BERG IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Doreene “Dee” Hogan Berg, 77, of Idaho Falls, died October 5, 2003, at her home of cancer. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born June 21, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Leo Hogan and Janet Hamilton Hogan. She grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City, where she graduated from East High School. She later took an Electronics course from EITC with her son, David, and learned computerized accounting with her son, Mike. She married Orson J. Berg June 28, 1946, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in California for four years, Salt Lake City for six years, then lived in Idaho Falls for two years before settling in Ammon 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked in sewing machine sales and instruction for many years. She owned a yarn shop, “Dee’s Yarn Shop,” and also worked in her youth as a telephone operator, military rations officer, and secretary. Orson passed away May 5, 2001. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities and recently as a Family History Specialist. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint of all kinds, quilting, carpentry, Chinchilla ranching, beekeeping, and horseback riding. Surviving are: Daughter: Cynthia [L.A.] McDonald, Boise, ID Son: Robert [Marilyn] Berg, Salt Lake City, UT Son: Michael [Kirma] Berg, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Shelley [Larry] Deming, Idaho Falls, ID Son: David [Vivian] Berg, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Joseph [Ilene] Berg, Boise, ID 19 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, David Hogan. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2003, at the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward, 2945 Selway, with Bishop Nate Martin officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
