Dora Lavinia (Portela) Nilsson

Dora Lavinia Portela Nilsson, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 14, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Dora was born June 1, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Russell Felix Portela and Janette Likes Portela. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and attended Bonneville High School.

On September 19, 1968, she married Terry Jule Johnson in Idaho Falls. They had two sons, Terry and Jamie. They were later divorced.

On May 8, 1987, she married Micheal K Nilsson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dora and Micheal made their home in St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family.

Dora is survived by her loving husband, Micheal K Nilsson of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Terry (Val) Johnson and Jamie (Chrissy) Johnson, both of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Russell (Sharon) Portela of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Diana Portela of Idaho Falls, ID; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Russell and Dora Likes.

The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
