Donny Tapper

Donny Benjamin Tapper, 35, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 4, 2024, at his home.

Donny was born August 30, 1989, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Shannon Benjamin Tapper and Heather Ann Olson. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended EITC vocational plumbing school.

On August 17, 2013, he married Kayla Ann Walton in Ririe, Idaho. Donny and Kayla made their home in Idaho Falls where Donny worked as a journeyman plumber for Bingham Mechanical for 17 years.

He enjoyed cooking, smoking meats and trying new recipes with his smoker, building new levels on Mario, roughhousing with his best buddy, Madilyn, PC gaming or going target shooting with Brayden, metal music and going to their concerts, recently being able to see his favorite band, Lamb of God, live for the first time. He enjoyed terrifying his wife with horror films and playing pool. Donny was a friend to everyone, always willing to give a lending hand to others, even when he was silently suffering, Donny never complained.

Donny is survived by his wife, Kayla Tapper of Idaho Falls, ID; their children, Brayden and Madilyn; father, Shannon (Susan) Tapper of Idaho Falls; mother, Heather Olson of Idaho Falls; grandparents, Richard and Theresa Hill of Ammon; and grandparents, Rod and Bonnie Olson of Idaho Falls; including aunts, uncles, and cousins,

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Richard Tapper; mother-in-law, Julia Baker; uncle, Dan Andrus; and aunt, Michelle Olson.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family suggests dressing casual and comfortable, as that is how Donny would want it.
