Donnie Ray Hudson, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 29, 2023, at Lily & Syringa Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.
Donnie was born July 9, 1941, in Kentucky to Guy Franklin Hudson and Dora Etta Hughes. He grew up and attended schools in Kentucky.
Donnie married Mary Will Bell. They made their home in Kentucky and in Idaho Falls where Donnie worked in law enforcement as an Animal Control Officer. They were married for over 50 years and later divorced.
Donnie loved detailing cars, trucks, and boats. He owned a very successful detail business called Donnie's Detail, where their slogan was "For Fussy Folks" and he was very proud of it. Donnie loved restoring old cars and tractors, working with wood, and loved the challenge of fixing anything. He enjoyed gold mining and working on his property in Salmon, Idaho.
Donnie is survived by his daughter, Donna (Rick) Garner, two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, all of Tucson, Arizona.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, his son Donnie Ray Jr., and a granddaughter Daysha Garner.
Our special thanks go out to the wonderful staff at Lily and Syringa who went above and beyond taking care of Donnie. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 South Yellowstone Highway.
