Donna Ward

Donna May Oswald Ward, 89, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away July 22, 2017, at Summerfield Retirement Home in Orem, Utah. Our dear sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend was born October 6, 1927, in Grant, Idaho, to Carl Henry and Elizabeth Myrtle Sargent Oswald. On February 14, 1947, Donna married the love of her life, Lorin Loveland Ward, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born eight children, Brent, Lynn, Karen, Cheryl, Doug, Janet, Jerry and Ken. Donna and Lorin made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Donna was a homemaker. They enjoyed many things together like skiing, swimming, camping, going on vacations, reading and dancing. Donna was always so happy that Lorin was such a good dancer. They also enjoyed the love and association of many dear friends and neighbors. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), she served in many organizations, including Cub Scouts, Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and Sunday School. Her favorite calling was being a teacher. For 3 ½ years of her later life, she resided at Summerfield Retirement Home, where she enjoyed fun programs, balloon volleyball, bingo, her ward and her association with other residents. Donna was surrounded by a caring and loving staff, including her hospice team, who attended to her every need. They were like angels on earth and she would reward them with a smile. We sincerely thank them. Donna especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had unconditional love for them all. Donna is survived by her children, Brent (Donna) Ward, Lynn (Annette) Ward, Karen Bullock, Cheryl (Dave) Owen, Doug (Kathy) Ward, Jerry (Kathy) Ward, Janet (Brent) Hagen and Ken (Ronda) Ward; her sister, Nila Stucki; 41 grandchildren and 86 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin; son-in-law, Scott Bullock; grandson, Brandon Bullock; great grandsons, Titan Olsen, Lee Sasser and John Jay Ward; great granddaughter, Shyla Ward; her brothers, Glen Oswald, Dale Oswald and Nolan Oswald; and sisters, Iris Westergard and Florence Purcell.
