DONNA PETERSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Donna Mary Ritchie Peterson, 74, of Ucon,
died October 18, 2003, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of
Eastern Idaho.
She was born November 15, 1928, in Coltman, Idaho, to Alfred
Coop Ritchie and Wilhelmina Constance Birdie Price Ritchie. Shortly after
she was born the family moved to Ucon, where she grew up and attended schools.
She graduated from Ucon High School and Grooms Beauty School, and, in later
years, earned a technical certificate from EITC in marketing. Except for
a short time in Idaho Falls, she has lived her entire life in Ucon.
She married Lloyd Richard “Pete” Peterson in
1953 in Nevada and they were later divorced. She was a homemaker and mother
and had a beauty salon in her home for several years before going to work
in October, 1973, as a cosmetician and clerk at Skaggs Drug Store in Idaho
Falls. She stayed with the store as they changed ownership and retired from
Rite-Aid in August, 2002.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. She enjoyed cross country skiing, gardening, reading, travel and
animals. She especially loved and had a special affinity with children.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred “Fred” Ritchie,
and two sisters, Ruby Bailey and Joy Drake.
Graveside Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday,
October 25, 2003, at the Ucon Cemetery, with Bishop Steve Winchester of
the Ucon LDS 4th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to
8:30 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel (963 S. Ammon).
