Donna Nadine Kilburn, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 18, 2025, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of Symbii Hospice.
Donna was born August 30, 1928, in Winfield, KS, to Ernest Franklin Vaughn and Winona Margerite Murphy Vaughn. She lived in Kansas, Minnesota, Washington, Pennsylvania, and in and around San Francisco, CA. In her later years, Donna and Jim spent their winters in Quartzsite, Arizona.
On October 8, 1947, she married Harold Hoffman in Reno, NV. Together, they had five children, Nancy, Mike, Bill, Julie, and Vicki. They were later divorced. On September 1, 1984, she married James Stewart Kilburn, in Tahoe City, CA. To this union, she gained two stepchildren, Brad and Wendy. She was a homemaker. When she was 50 years old, she learned how to drive a car and went to night school to obtain her GED.
She was baptized Catholic and worked with a youth group in Pinole, CA. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and family ancestry. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sullivan of Concord, CA; son, Mike (Sue) Hoffman of Eden, UT; son, Bill Hoffman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Julie Schramko of Rupert, ID; daughter, Vicki (Dan) Andreason of Idaho Falls, ID; step-son, Bradley Kilburn of KY; step-daughter, Wendy (Tim) Walker of CO; brother, Marvin Vaughn of Auburn, WA; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart Kilburn; parents, Ernest and Winona Vaughn; brothers, Jimmy Vaughn, and Glen Vaughn; sister, Patricia Lenzi; and grandson, Matthew Sullivan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, both visitations at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
