IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donna Ann Rhead Johnson, 82, of Idaho Falls, died May 13, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 29, 1926, in Idaho Falls to Guy Lewis Rhead and Frances Irene Moyes Rhead. She grew up and attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley High School. She grew up helping on the family farm and assisted her father in running the farm during World War II while the men were at war.
On February 7, 1944, she married Roland Eric Johnson in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a mother and homemaker and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital. She also worked in Business Administration at the LDS Hospital for 10 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings including Relief Society President. She enjoyed cooking and cross-stitching. Donna had many friends and spent her time in service to others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was known as an "eternal optimist." Her life was an example of unconditional love.

Son: Robert (Dianne) Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Richard (Rhonda) Johnson, Rigby, ID
14 Grandchildren & 26 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Lois Backland; and a great granddaughter.
The family would like to express appreciation to those who assisted with her care specifically Dr. Thomas Maley and his nurse, Lisa, as well as caregivers at Fairwinds, Riverview, and Lincoln Court.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Shelley LDS Woodville 1st Ward, 1555 North 700 East, with Bishop Kris Kelley officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
