Donna Hagen

Donna Mae Dial Hagen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was reunited with her eternal husband and companion on January 2, 2018. She was 94.

Donna was born May 5, 1923, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Samuel Laurence Dial and Elga Thorne Dial. When she was two years old the family moved to Shelley, Idaho, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Shelley High School. She also attended Hollywood Beauty School (now Grooms Beauty College), where she earned her cosmetology license.

On August 21, 1940, she married Leon Robert Hagen in Shelley, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in January, 1981. To this union were born four children: Lawrence, Gary, Kevin, and LaDawn. Donna and Leon made their home in Idaho Falls, where Donna was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked as a hairdresser and instructor at Groom's Beauty College. She also had a beauty shop in her home for many years. Leon passed away August 21, 1980.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna served in various capacities in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society throughout the years. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed painting pictures and ceramics. She also liked to read and crochet. They loved their summer home in Island Park Village, where so many memories were created for many years. She loved to travel and one of the highlights of her life was a trip to Israel.

She loved all of her grandchildren and was always so proud of her kids. She spent some time in Arizona and enjoyed relaxing in the pleasant weather with a diet Dr. Pepper. Grandma was always happy to see anyone that came to visit her when she got to the nursing home. She would make sure you "pinky promised" to come back! She always had a smile for you and made you feel special when she’d say "there's my girl/guy!" And she’d always say "love you most" when you left. Well Grandma . . . we love YOU most! We’ll miss you, but know you are in the loving care of our Heavenly Father and loved ones.

Donna is survived by her sons, Lawrence Leon (Susan) Hagen of Idaho Falls, ID, Gary (Deborah) Hagen of Idaho Falls, ID, brothers, Robert "Bob" (Joan) Dial of Salt Lake City, UT, Hal (Janice) Dial of Salt Lake City, UT, sisters, Beverly (Gail) Larsen of Ririe, ID, and Nancy (Dale) Cowley of Salt Lake City, UT.
