DONNA BURGIE Click here to view Donna's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donna Margie Whitehead Burgie, 86, of Idaho Falls, died January 30, 2009, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born July 16, 1922, in Iona, to Rulon D. Whitehead and Ileane Constance Janes Whitehead. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Ammon High School. On June 29, 1941, she married Francis A. Burgie in Ammon. They made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their four children. She was a member of the BPO Does and a Charter Member of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Jeep Patrol Auxiliary. Donna was a mother and a homemaker and worked as a cook, a seamstress for S & S Tent & Awning, in the printing industry for Roger Brothers, and as the Print Shop Supervisor at Chesbro Music. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a primary teacher and a Young Women’s leader. Donna enjoyed gardening, cooking, and needlecrafts. She taught First Aid and was also a Cub Scout Leader, a Little League Coach, and a Sharpshooter Marksman. She loved spending time in the outdoors. Survivors include: Daughter: Toni Rae Mason, Idaho Falls Daughter: C. Jeanne (Steven) Thorne, Blackfoot Son: E. Jeffery (Dona) Burgie, Menan Daughter: Keleigh A. (Terry) Parker, Huckleberry Cottage, England, UK Sister: Georgelean (Carlos) Olvera Sister: Marjorie (Milt) Evans Brother: Jack Whitehead Brother: Rulon Whitehead 13 Grandchildren & 27 Great-Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, and her brother, Jerry Boyd Whitehead. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Steve Parry officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
