Donna Chloe Bearden, 75, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Lily-Syringa nursing home due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Her husband, Robert, was at her bedside when she quietly stopped breathing.
She was the second of four girls born to Don and Natella Brown and she grew up in Idaho Falls. She attended school at Emerson Elementary and Idaho Falls High School. She attended Ricks College and also graduated from the Salt Lake IDS Business College. Donna worked as a secretary for General Authorities in the IDS Church Offices in Salt Lake. She returned to Idaho Falls and worked as a secretary at the INL test site until she married her husband, Robert. Later, she worked for the Bank of Commerce while her children attended college and went on Missions for the LDS Church. Donna started Violin lessons at an early age and became a talented Violinist. She was member of the Idaho Falls Symphony for several years.
Donna met and married her husband, Robert while she was working at the INL. Robert was born and raised in Texas. In 1957, he applied for and received an offer to work at the INL as an Instrument Engineer at the Chemical Fuel Reprocessing Plant (CPP). Soon after he began working there, Donna was hired as the branch secretary. He was smitten and courted Donna until she finally accepted one of his many marriage proposals. He was not a member of the LDS church when they met. Donna assisted the missionaries in teaching Robert the gospel. He was baptized and they were married for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 18, 1960. They have been loving companions for 57 years. They were blessed with three wonderful children, five grandchildren, and a new great-grandson. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; one sister Claudia (Verrel) Smith; two children : Michael Dean (Annette Chapman) Bearden; Stacey Jean DuBois and five grandchildren: Heather (Brian) Hood, Brittney (Jason) Evans, Hogis DuBois, III, Robert Luke DuBois and Gabreille Chloe DuBois. She did not get a chance to see and love her first great-grandson, Easton Michael Evans, born last month.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; oldest daughter, Wendy Lynne Laney; and two of her sisters, Murna Lynne and Charla.
