Donalee Crawford

Donalee McCarthy Crawford 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 29, 2012. Donalee was born December 17, 1934, in Butte, Montana, to Edward Timothy McCarthy and Edna Victoria Wegas McCarthy. She grew up and attended schools in Butte and graduated from Butte High School. She continued her education at Eastern Idaho Vocational-Technical School (now EITC). In addition to Butte, she lived in Schenectady and Utica, New York; Cincinnati, Ohio; Rexburg, Idaho; Bozeman, Montana; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Idaho Falls, Idaho. On August 31, 1984, she married Russell L. Crawford in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Donalee was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked as a clerk, key punch operator, clerk typist, and was a registrar at Idaho Falls High School. Donalee served on the Board of the American Cancer Society and was a volunteer tutor for adults learning how to read. She enjoyed golf, bridge, painting, cross country skiing, traveling the world, the Oregon coast, watching movies (especially the classics), Fox News and celebrity gossip. Donalee loved long telephone conversations with dear friends and loved her family very much. Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 28 years, Russell, Daughter: Pamela Cole of Boise, ID, Daughter: Paige (Waylin) Lewis of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter: Jennifer (Tim) Burr of Glenwood Springs, Co, Stepdaughter: Julie (Michael) Havener of Naples, FL, Stepdaughter: Amy Michitsch, of Sparks, NV Stepson: Kelly Crawford of Ely, NV, Sister: Jeannie Nugent of Butte, MT, Sister: Marylou Klemo of Whitehall, MT, Sister: JoAnn McCarthy of Butte, MT. Brother: Teddy McCarthy of Butte, MT 11 Grandchildren: Dustin Cole, Carsen Cole, Emilie Lewis, Hailie Lewis, Leslie Lewis, Timmy Burr, Shane Burr, Nicholas Larney, Mason Michitsch, McKenna Michitsch, Christopher Crawford, 2 Great Grandchildren: Keaton Cole and Jack Bird. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son, Christopher “Duffy” Crawford. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, celebrate with chocolate.
