IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Donald Marion Watson, 80, passed away due to natural causes on July 16, 2010 at his home in Idaho Falls, ID while surrounded by his family and under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Donald was born January 16, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Willard James Watson and Fannie Berneice Frome Watson. He was the third of five children. Donald attended schools in Cascade, ID, Lewiston, ID, and Clarkston, WA before moving with his family to Idaho Falls, ID. Donald married Maxine Ann Stanger on November 22, 1950 in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. The couple made their home in Idaho Falls, where Donald worked on several jobs in the carpentry trade through Carpenter’s Local 808 union as a Journeyman Carpenter. He worked for Cope and Hall, Boise Cascade, and the INL until the time he retired. Donald always paid his union dues and received his “50 Years” pin this past year and his lifetime membership in the union. In 1974, Maxine’s sister died and her husband had died four years earlier. This left four children, Trina, Sandy, Scott, and Ann Tirrell, who would have been placed in foster homes, but Donald and Maxine took them into their home and helped raise them. Donald was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite activities included camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. Survivors include: Wife: Maxine, and sons Michael (Delaine) Watson, Douglas (Janice) Watson, Robert (Christine) Watson, Gregg (Katherine) Watson, and his brother Willard Watson, all of Idaho Falls. 10 Grandchildren & 8 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Iona LDS 4th Ward (1040 North Crimson Drive) with Bishop Nielson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wood East Side (963 South Ammon Road) and 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
